The HypoPARAthyroidism Association has always advocated for participation in patient studies and other investigative medical initiatives. Medical research and patient participation is necessary if medical science is to be advanced, and patient’s quality of life improved.
Types of Clinical Trials
Some trials are drug trials which mean you will receive medication as part of the trial. Some are natural history or other forms of investigational studies that do not involve any medication. There are also trials like the one below that is for allotransplantation (a surgical procedure) or ones that are diagnostic in nature. Always make sure to understand what type of trial you are signing up for as well as discuss the trial with your individual doctor.
